For severely damaged, infected, or recurring toenails, Norwest Podiatry offers safe and effective full toenail removal in West Auckland.
Total Nail Avulsion (TNA) involves removing the entire toenail. It’s used when the full nail plate is damaged, thickened, or infected. Phenol can be applied to prevent regrowth, or the nail can regrow naturally over months.
If you choose not to have regrowth, the nail bed will be smooth. Many patients find it looks cleaner than a thick or damaged nail.
If chemical is applied, yes.
No pain during the procedure due to anaesthetic. Only mild post-op tenderness.
