At Norwest Podiatry, we’re passionate about helping people stay active, mobile, and confident on their feet, and that extends beyond the clinic walls.
Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the wonderful members at the Selwyn Centre group in Huapai for a foot health education session, thanks to Margie, who kindly reached out and helped organise the event.
We always love opportunities to connect with our local community, and this was a fantastic morning filled with great food, practical advice, great conversations, and plenty of laughs.
During the session, our team spoke about common foot concerns that can affect mobility and comfort as we age, including:
Our goal was to provide simple, practical tips people could take away and use in their everyday lives.
To keep things fun and interactive, we also ran a foot health quiz, where attendees tested their knowledge on all things feet.
From guessing how many bones are in the foot to separating foot myths from facts, there were plenty of great answers, and a few surprises along the way.
We also gave away a few small prizes, which added to the fun atmosphere.
At Norwest Podiatry, we believe education plays a big role in preventative health.
By having conversations early and helping people understand what’s normal (and what’s not), we can often help prevent small issues from becoming bigger problems.
It’s also a wonderful way for us to stay connected with the people and organisations that make our local community so special.
A big thank you to Margie for organising the session and to everyone at Selwyn Centre Huapai for making us feel so welcome.
We had a fantastic time meeting everyone and look forward to visiting again.
